How Lutein Works

Lutein is most notably concentrated in the retina of the human eye, especially within the macula, where it plays a key role in protecting the eyes from harmful light and oxidative stress.

It supports eye health by filtering harmful blue light rays that enters the retina, reducing its potential damage to the delicate retinal cells.

Additionally, lutein inhibits the activity of oxygen free radicals, preventing oxidative stress that can lead to cell damage.

Why Cocrysta®

Lutein is highly sensitive to light and oxygen, which poses many challenges in its production, processing, and storage.

Cocrysta® Lutein addresses this challenges of traditional lutein. Cocrysta® Lutein boasts an impressive 60% active loading compared to 5% in conventional encapsulated lutein.

Additionally, Cocrysta® Lutein delivers superior stability, enhanced solubility, and improved bioavailability, making it the ideal choice for your eye and brain health needs.

What Cocrysta® does

  • Improved Stability

    Experimental condition:
    Room temperature, open condition.
    Results:
After 7 days, while about 40% of the conventional lutein (lutein crystal) are decomposed, Cocrysta® Lutein remains stable.
  • Higher Solubility

Cocrysta® Lutein achieves superior dissolution performance. Compared with conventional lutein crystal, the maximum solubility of Cocrysta® Lutein is increased by 50 times in simulated gastric fluid (SGF) and 5 times in simulated intestinal fluid (SIF).

  • Enhanced Bioavailability

Animals: 18 male SD rats were divided into 3 groups, with 6 rats in each group.
Dose: 50 mg/kg (equivalent to lutein)
Results: The biovailability of Cocrysta® Lutein is increased by 6.0 times compared with conventional lutein crystal.
