What is cocrystal
Cocrystals are crystalline solids composed of two or more different molecular/ionic compounds.

In a typical cocrystal, one compound is an active ingredient (e.g., curcumin), and the other is a co-former (e.g., L-carnitine). Molecules of the active ingredient and co-former are intricately bound together through non-covalent interactions, without altering their inherent molecular structures.

Why cocrystal technology
Cocrystal technology represents an advanced formulation approach designed to enhance the physical and chemical properties of active ingredients, while preserving their original molecular structures.

Since 1963, the U.S. FDA has approved numerous cocrystal-based medications, validating the effectiveness of this innovative technology. Furthermore, in 2013 and 2016, the FDA and EMA established comprehensive regulatory frameworks for pharmaceutical cocrystals, paving the way for their development and approval.
